- Cleaning your garbage disposal - Use ice and Lemon. Simply throw a few pieces of ice and a few pieces of cut up lemon and turn the garbage disposal on. The ice will loosen any debris and the lemon juice will sanitize and clean the areas. It also leaves the garbage disposal fresh smelling.

- Keep odors out of your fridge using coffee grounds. Put coffee grounds (used or fresh) in a small bowl and put it in your fridge. They will absorb the odors in the fridge leaving the smell of coffee behind.

- Keep your sponge fresh and clean by putting it in your microwave. You can also clean it by putting it in with a load in the dishwasher.

Living Areas

- Keep things dust free using a lint roller. You can use this on your couches, lamps/shades, stuffed animals, etc. This list goes on.

- Clean your chandeliers with a spray bottle of 1 part vodka to 5 parts water. Spray the chandelier, let is drip for about 10 minutes and blow dry it dry. This will leave your chandelier clean and streak free!

Bedroom areas

- How to clean your mattress. Sprinkle baking soda and essential oil (choose the scent of your choosing) onto your mattress. Let it sit for 30 min. Vacuum up the baking soda and your mattress will be left clean and smelling fresh.

- Use a coffee filter to dust your LCD screens. The filters have no residue and leave no lint behind.

Bathroom Areas

- Apply Rain-x to your shower glass doors 1x every 2 months. This will prevent any soap scum or hard water stain build up.

- To clean your shower head, wrap it in a bag filled with vinegar. Let this sit for about 1 hour. Take the bag off and rinse. This will disinfect and clean the shower head.

- To prevent soap scum build up in your shower or tub, apply lemon oil or baby oil to the surface. The water will bead right off and the shower will be left soap scum free.

Laundry areas

- Clean your washing machine by adding a towel or 2 with 1 cup of vinegar. Do this 1x monthly and it will help keep your machine fresh.

- Your dryer vent needs to be washed from time to time. You know when this needs to be done by running water over the vent itself. If the water doesn’t flow right through the vent, then it needs to be washed. Test it after washing to be sure the water flows through the screen.

Pets

- If it’s raining outside and your dog has to go out, upon entering wipe your dog down with a bounce sheet. This will help prevent the “wet dog” smell.

- Use baking soda on the dogs bed to keep them fresh.

- Rid of hair on most fabric surfaces with a rubber dish glove or a lint roller.

- Keep up with your air filter. Pet hair, dander and dust get stuck so keeping up with this regularly will help keep things fresh.

- Dog toy cleaning – soft toys can be washed using a garment bag. To dry them but them in a pillow case and dry on low. Hard toys can be washed in the dish washer.

- If you don’t want your pet to get on your furniture, use aluminum foil to spread on the surface. The noise and texture will keep them off.

- Invest in a robotic vacuum cleaner. This will help save your floors.

- Place a bounce sheet in an envelope and put under your dogs bed. This will help prevent the “wet dog” smell throughout the house.

"To remove sticky labels from dishes or glassware, put them in the sink with warm water and a scoop of Oxi-clean. Let them sit for 30 mintues. When you return the labels will all be floating."
